James Smith married Deborah Reynolds and lived in White Plains, NY. On April 18, 1775, he was 17, days shy of his 18th Birthday. On this date in history, Paul Revere (age 40) made his famous midnight ride from Boston and the American Revolution started the next day! James lived to be 84. Deborah lived to be 84 also.
They had a son named William Smith (born Nov. 1778 Note: Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4th, 1776). He married Catherine Butler in 1814. William lived to be 87. There are no records, DOB or DOD, for his wife.
William and Catherine had a son on April 6, 1826 named Elihu Barker Smith. He married Rachel Ann Ammerman. His second wife was Rose Bell Dimick. With Rose Belle, he had a son named William Elmer Smith. Elihu lived to be 68. Rose Belle died on April 5, 1937 in Dundee, Yates County, NY at the age of 85.
William Elmer Smith, born on June 7, 1872 in Mitchellsville, Steuben County, NY married Ida Joanne Jack on August 19th, 1894 in Bath, NY.
